«Why hats?» — the most common question.
The idea popped into our lives unexpectedly. Masha and I have always loved hats. They have a very noble past, but an unfairly humble present, at least in Russia. So we thought, who if not us?
I've never seen a russian decent brand of hats that would give you freedom and the feeling that you are in your place. And this is very important. We decided to create this feeling.
When we started, the fashion for russian brands was in full swing. But if you could know about clothes and produce that easily in our country, you wouldn't say the same thing about hats. So it was the end of 2015.
The name Hatfield came to us at the right time. We had walked at some warm evening around Moscow and I had been scrolling the names of the future brand in my head. After listing all the dumbest versions, I gave up and turned on some music. At the time, Metallica's Enter Sandman was playing in my headphones. I screamed: Guys, Hatfield! You know, the field of hats (also in russian a brim and a field sound the same) and like James Hetfield. (James Alan Hetfield - Metallica frontman) Everyone loved it. It sounded powerful and very cool.
